13. Conversation at Hospital

Grandson: “Hi, we’re here for my grandmother’s checkup.

“Nurse: “Great, thank you. Can I get your name and date of birth, please?

“Grandson: “My name is John and my grandmother’s name is Mary. Her date of birth is January 1, 1940.

“Nurse: “Thank you. And Mary, do you have any medical conditions or allergies we should be aware of?

“Grandmother: “No, I don’t think so.

“Nurse: “Okay, great. Follow me to the exam room, please.”(They walk to the exam room and the nurse takes Mary’s blood pressure and temperature.)

Nurse: “Your blood pressure and temperature are normal. The doctor will be with you shortly.” (Doctor enters the room)

Doctor: “Hello, Mary. How are you feeling today?” Grandmother: “I’mfeeling pretty good, thank you.

“Doctor: “That’s great to hear. I just have a few questions for you. Are you experiencing any pain or discomfort?

“Grandmother: “No, not really.

“Doctor: “Okay, and have you noticed any changes in your vision or hearing?” Grandmother: “My hearing isn’t as good as it used to be, but my vision is still prettygood.

“Doctor: “Alright, we’ll check your hearing and vision in a bit. Can you tell me about your diet and exercise habits?

“Grandmother: “I try to eat healthy and I take walks around the neighborhood every day.

” Doctor :”That’s great. Keep up the good work. Now, let’s check your hearing and vision.” (After the checkup)

Doctor: “Everything looks good, Mary. Just keep up with your healthy habits and make sure to come back for your next checkup in six months.

“Grandson: “Thank you, doctor.

“Doctor: “You’re welcome. Have a great day!”
